In order to carry out specific charges beyond the scope of the Standing Committees, Temporary Committees of the Society may be established and charged by the President during his/her tenure. In such cases the President may appoint members without any restrictions. Temporary Committees report, in writing, to the President and subsequently to the Council. Temporary committees are dissolved upon completion of their charge or the term of the appointing President unless the next President specifically reappoints them. CORA is presently a Temporary Committee. Each member serves a four-year term on the committee, with half the members rotating off every two years.
Specific Charge: The CORA Committee develops a list of topics, workshops, short courses, forums, and speakers that are pertinent to regulatory issues to recommend to Meeting Organizing Committees via the Scientific Affairs Committee (SAC). CORA develops an interface with SAC to ensure that regulatory issues are considered in program development, determines whether ISSX could raise its profile among regulatory agencies or expand membership among those with regulatory interests, and discusses whether CORA should continue and whether it should be ad hoc or proposed to Council as a standing committee.
