The Publications Committee consists of four to six members and advises and assists the Newsletter Editor and Web master in policy matters related to the newsletter and web site. The committee members advise and assist meeting organizers with the publication of the proceedings of the Society’s meetings, act as the liaison between the Society and published journals, their editors and publishers, as directed by Council, and consider, evaluate and recommend for Council action other publishing activities that promote the aims and image of the Society and or benefit its members. Each member serves a four-year term on the committee, with half the members rotating off every two years.
Specific Charge: The Publications Committee expedites the upgrade of the ISSX website, annually evaluates the cost/value of the newsletter and addresses whether improvements are needed. The committee maintains appropriate communication with relevant committees (e.g. Finance, Membership), ensures that the Executive Committee and Council are effectively engaged in strategic initiatives, and develops written policies/guidance so as to develop institutional memory.
