Poster Awards: Graduate students and Postdoctoral fellows who are members of ISSX may enter their abstracts into the competition.

The Poster Awards Committee will review abstracts and identify finalists in both the predoctoral and postdoctoral categories. Finalists will be interviewed at the meeting and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awardees will be selected.

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who do not wish to enter the competition can submit abstracts in the general submission category for poster presentation.

Abstract Guidelines/Instructions:

Please follow the instructions listed on the abstract submission site. For each submission, you must select an Abstract Category (e.g. primary keyword or Session Selection for Invited Speakers), completed presenter contact information and include the abstract text. Please type the abstract title using a capital letter for the first letter of each word. Submissions must have a title to be considered for the conference program.

Please note: By submitting an abstract for the meeting, you are confirming that if your abstract is accepted, you or one of your co-authors has every intention of attending the 4th Asia Pacific Regional ISSX Meeting.

Authors: Please provide all required information for the presenting author including a valid email address. A presenter must be selected in order for abstracts to be considered. Please enter all additional authors in the order they should appear in the supplemental issue of Drug Metabolism Reviews.

Please note: In order for your abstract to be accepted, at least one author must be a member of ISSX.  If you would like to join ISSX, please complete the membership application form at www.issx.org/membership/newISSX recognizes the considerable benefit that scientists from disadvantaged nations can gain from joining our Society. Please click here to see if you are able to join ISSX at a discounted member rate.

Abstract Body: The abstract text should be typed single-spaced and should not exceed 500 words although 350 to 400 words is preferred. Type the text as one paragraph. All references included in the text should be accompanied by the full citation, including author’s names, title, journal name, volume, number, inclusive paging, and year of publication.

Please note: The abstract title and author information is not counted against the word limit and should not appear in the body of the abstract.

Abstract Content: Abstracts must describe, previously unpublished work. That is abstracts previously published for other national or international meetings will not be accepted for ISSX meetings.

If the abstract is about metabolism/disposition/mode of action of the compound, the chemical name or a partial structure must be included. If the compound causes a well-characterized biological response that is independent of structure (for example, compounds are a general inhibitor of some process, like apoptosis or chaperone function and structure is unrelated to the central theme), it is acceptable to include it with only the generic name.

Abstracts should include a statement of hypothesis, methods used, supporting data, results and conclusions. Abstracts found to be lacking in sufficient clarity, relation to the meeting topic areas, or scientific content may be rejected.

Preparation of the abstract should be rigorous and the abstract check for errors and accuracy before submission. Errors in the submitted abstract cannot be corrected once the abstract is accepted. Errors can be corrected in the poster, so the whole set of data and information presented is accurate.

Abstract submissions must be completed by October 31, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (US).
