The ISSX award program was established to recognize excellent scientific and service achievements in the scientific fields covered by the Society. Awards are presented at the corresponding scientific meeting of ISSX. The call for nominations is now open for the 14th European ISSX Meeting (June 26 - 29, 2017 in Cologne, Germany) and for the 21st North American ISSX Meeting (September 24 - 28, 2017 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA).
Nomination Submission Deadlines:
Regional Scientific Achievement Awards - Presented to an ISSX member who has made major scientific contributions to the field within a specific geographical region (Europe, Asia Pacific and North America). The frequency of the award will vary according to the regional meetings schedule. The purpose of this award is to recognize meritorious contributions by senior or mid-career scientists that have had a major impact on research in the field. The award will consist of a plaque or medal, an honorarium, and travel support to an ISSX regional meeting where a lecture will be presented.
Regional New Investigator Awards - Presented to ISSX members who have made significant contributions to the field during their early career years (normally within 5 -10 years from the time of receiving his/her highest earned degree). The purpose of these awards is to encourage and recognize developing scientists who are active in the field within a specific geographical region (Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America). Each award will consist of a plaque or medal, an honorarium, and travel support to an ISSX meeting. The frequency of the award will vary according to the regional meetings schedule.
Nominations of candidates for the respective ISSX Awards must be made by a member of ISSX but may be seconded by an individual who is not an ISSX-member.
