SSX is committed to helping students and young scientists understand and explore research and career options that could help achieve their full potential by providing them mentorship opportunities from senior drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) scientists from academia and industry. Graduate students and young scientists will be paired with senior DMPK researchers so that they can get the opportunity to network, get research and career advice, and establish relationships that could help them in many aspects of their career. Participants in the mentorship program will be chosen on the basis of the submitted abstract and a short questionnaire.
Applications are no longer being accepted for the SSX Mentorship Program.

Bangalore is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of about 8.42 million making it the third most populous city in India. Located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau at a height of over 900 m above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Bangalore is famous for fast paced life, delicious food, wonderful people, beautiful gardens, fun nightlife and amazing shopping. It is also being the biggest hub for information technology and biotechnology companies in India and is hence an extremely multicultural city. Bangalore is well connected with an international airport and numerous rail and bus stations. There is a lot to see and do, so you might want to plan staying for an extra day or so. If you can stay longer, there are a number of trips within a short drive or flight from Bangalore.
Bangalore is a short 3-4 hour drive from several places of cultural and historic significance such as Mysore, Belur and Halebid which are famous for their ancient temples, palaces and forts. Bangalore is a short 3-5 hour drive from several national parks, forests and mountains with one of the highest densities of tigers, leopards and elephants in the world (Coorg, Kabini, Bandipur, Nagarhole, Mudumalai, Chikmagalur, Wayanad). The Western Ghats is a UNESCO world heritage site and has been designated as a biodiversity hotspot. Hampi, a UNESCO world heritage site, famous for its ancient palaces and forts is an 8 hour drive. Bangalore is equidistant from the east and west coast of India (1 hour flight or 8 hour drive) where lovely beaches and luxury resorts are popular with Indian and western tourists (Kovalam, Kochi, Chennai, Pondicherry).
A tour will be arranged from Bangalore to nearby places of interest Sep 4th. Click here to email us about your interest in a tour of the city and surroundings, or Mysore.
