Additional Information
I am about to complete my Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Rhode Island. I have had a M.S. degree since 2002 that I earned while working in the field of drug metabolism. I began work in 1994 at Pfizer performing drug metabolism studies. Most of my career has been spent in biotransformation and mechanisms for either biological reactions or MS gas-phase reactions.
Social/Volunteer Organizations
I volunteer at the RI Mission of Mercy, Salgi Esophageal Cancer Foundation and RI Department of Health
More Information
Independently initiating and directing novel research projects using various mass spectrometry techniques applied to energetic materials. I am specifically looking into investigating the metabolism and potential toxicity of energetic compounds (particularly peroxides). I am responsible for all laboratory decisions and collaborate with the URI Pharmacy department for additional support as needed. We have recently begun research into natural products and may begin work investigating chemical warfare agents.
