Regional Scientific Achievement Awards
Presented to an ISSX member who has made major scientific meritorious contributions by scientists that have had major impact on research in the field in their geographical region.
The North American Scientific Achievement Award is named in Honor of Ronald W. Estabrook and was sponsored by XenoTech. This award is presented to an ISSX member who has made major scientific contributions to the field within the North American Region.
Regional New Investigator Awards
Presented to ISSX members who have made significant contributions to the field during their early career years (normally within 5 -10 years from the time of receiving his/her highest earned degree).
The North American New Investigator Award is named in honor of James R. Gillette. It is presented to an ISSX member who has made significant contributions to the field within the North American Region.
The European New Investigator Award is named in honor of Karl J. Netter and was started with an initial donation from the European Society for Biochemical Pharmacology (ESBP). It is presented to an ISSX member who has made significant contributions to the field within the European Region.
Distinguished Accomplishments in Drug Discovery and Development Award
Presented to an individual or to a team employed in an organization involved in drug discovery and/or development at the fall North American Meeting. NOTE: This award is not available for the European or Asia Pacific ISSX Meetings.
The award will be presented to an individual or team on the basis of:
(1) A single high impact scientific accomplishment that dramatically changed practices in the ADME characterization of drugs or drug candidates or
(2) A sustained body of scientific work that shows high impact on the ADME characterization of drugs.
Nominations of candidates for the respective ISSX Awards must be made by a member of ISSX but may be seconded by an individual who is not an ISSX-member.
Required Supporting Documentation:
A nominating letter to the chairman of the ISSX Awards Committee
No less than two and no more than four supporting letters presenting the case for the candidate's nomination. (The maximum length of each letter should not exceed two pages). In the case of the Di Carlo Award, specify the individual's contributions to ISSX as a Society.
A summary detailing the relevant achievements of the candidate (maximum 2 - 3 pages)
A curriculum vitae including a bibliography (note bibliography and not biography) of the candidate
A high resolution headshot photograph (color preferred) in .jpg format
Nominations should be submitted through this web site. The online submission form follows below.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Society Awards Committee consisting of seven members of the Council of ISSX and Nomination Committee, including the President-Elect who serves as committee chair. The committee will forward the names of the selected awardees for review and final approval to the ISSX President.
